W&N 1949 - 2009: Celebrating 60 years of publishing
9 classic editions, 6 decades of publishing

Weidenfeld & Nicolson commissioned Fallon, one of the world’s top advertising agencies, to come up with radically new cover artwork aimed at giving these modern classic novels a contemporary twist and updating the traditional imprint of Weidenfeld & Nicolson with a cutting-edge look.

“It is very unusual for such a successful advertising agency to agree to work on book covers, but they have been as excited as we have. It has been fascinating to see how Fallon have approached the project. We couldn't have asked for more passion or a better understanding of W&N.”

Lucie Stericker,
Group Creative Director at Orion

“This project was a great opportunity to showcase the departments’ passion for craft and design above and beyond traditional advertising briefs. Hopefully we’ve achieved something that celebrates W&N’s 60th anniversary with style.”

Mark Elwood,
Creative Director at Fallon Design
